Where did we get the Reading Rockets that we blasted off for the kids?!
If you're reading this, perhaps it's because you have an inquisitive child who might like to do his/her own rocket! Reading can be infinitely inspiring, especially if the reward is explosive. We used Estes rockets as our Reading Rockets. Here's a link to the Estes Rockets site and the tiny Quark that we used. You might need more than 1 rocket (in case you lose one), the Porta-Pad II Launch Pad, Electron Beam Launch Controller, 1/4A3-3T (200 feet) or 1/2A3-2T (stronger, 300 feet) engine. After tax it'll be around $70 and good for 4 launches. Get 1 more $10 engine pack and you'll get 4 more launches. It's a quick project to cut the fins and assemble the Quark, with adult help. HAVE FUN!
